Work towards our transition
to a low-carbon economy

Our goal:
“We have set a target of carbon neutrality for our ecosystem
by contributing to the fight against climate change
and by being a Science Based Target company (+1.5° by 2030).”

Guided by action and continuous improvement, Altavia has established a climate roadmap broken down into various steps.

The first step is to carry out “Simplified” Carbon Footprints in order to fast-track these efforts in collaboration with our business units.

The next step is to expand the scope of our carbon footprints to indirect emissions.
Once the carbon footprints have been carried out, the CSR team identifies concrete actions to reduce GHG emissions in consultation with the business units. Lastly, the business units contribute to carbon neutrality by financing carbon offsetting projects. The Group places the priority on initiatives that meet several Sustainable Development Goals and which are audited, particularly on benchmarks like the Gold Standard and VCS-Vera.

More than an optimisation process, eco-design is a way of conceptualising and designing products and services for our customers. The Altavia teams constantly adapt to the requirements of their customers, to local contexts, and to opportunities in order to produce intelligent products that safeguard our natural resources.
We incorporate their evolutions at all levels of their life cycle, thus reducing their environmental impacts.

This takes the form of actions at different levels for the group:

  • creation of our brand Ecopublishing, which incorporates 5 eco-design criteria for our materials printed on paper (certified raw materials, low CO2 paper, eco-labelled printers, recyclability of the finished product, transporter using cleaner vehicles).
  • dissemination of advice and best practices based notably on the guidelines set out by the French organisation Citéo.
  • production of a guide on eco-designed POS for our business units.
  • launch of a multi-skill think tank to accelerate the roll-out of eco-design and training for our teams.
